But what is this? Has IYC attacked another
old war hero? Rest easy FCB lovers, this is not 5.22 all over again; these
injuries were actually sustained shoring up the riverbank at Poulton (see
barge graveyard in 'bargespotting'). When she was decommissioned from London's
Inland Waterways service in 1970, she joined the other heroic shoring barges.
For three decades she was lodged in the mud, until the Waterways Museum painstakingly
excavated the vessel and floated her up to Gloucester, where she is now the
pride of the town and a treasure for the nation.
